Deburring & Flash Removal

Die Grinding

A burr is a raised edge or small piece of material. It is usually an unwanted piece of material and is removed with a deburring tool in a process called 'deburring.' Burrs are most commonly created after machining operations, such as grinding, drilling, milling, engraving or turning. Deburring accounts for a significant portion of manufacturing costs.

Casting flash is material left by casting molds when parts are cast such as left over material from ejector pins, parting lines in a casting, or flash over holes in a die casting for hydraulic hoses for example.

In order to remove the casting from the die, ejector pins may be used. These generally result in a mark on the casting, and their location and size can vary which is why having an experienced labor force familiar with hand finishing can be crucial to ensure all areas are cleaned and finished according to specifications. We have over 20 years of experience in metal finishing including removing flash and burrs from castings. Along with an excellent track record for meeting our customers' expectations for die cast finishing you can rest assured we will meet your company's needs.
